Hey Carbonians!
We’ve just rolled out an update to the Carbon Beta. It’s a fairly significant update as it allows new MetaMask account signups, plus a whole lot of improvements and extras.
As you know we’ve been working on ways to handle multiple accounts and bots. One solution (among other things) we have implemented is only allowing signups from MetaMask wallets that have some transaction history. In general this means it’s a wallet that a real person is using. It doesn’t need to hold CRBN tokens, or any other crypto, it just needs to have been used for something in the past. Sending or receiving. If you have already created your account, you can use it, no problem. We’ve got other checks in place too, and a much improved backend system for detecting and dealing with bots, vote manipulation and multiple accounts. All of our checks apply equally to all users.
Here is a list of some of the improvements or additions in this new update:
- MetaMask new account signups, mentioned above.
- You can now reply to comments, to have a conversation!
- You can sort your followers, or anyone’s followers, by how many followers their followers have (what a mouthful!).
- An improved leaderboard section showing the rewards info.
- Improved rankings visibility for each user, now shown in their profile.
- More groups added, with more to come very soon. Go take a look!
- A new handy sidebar showing groups you are subscribed to, for quick access.
- Sidebar now added for mobile users (but it’s at the bottom, scroll down).
- Improved notifications section, fixed the order to see the newest first. Note, some recent notifications may be missing, but from now on will work fine.
- Added ability to clear your old notifications.
- Updated user level badges (you might be on level 2 or 3 already, go and check!)
- Improved search function, can now search for part of a username, not just the beginning of it.
- Added ability to remove a comment, report, mute a user etc. Same as posts.
- Some UI improvements you may or may not notice.
So, it was quite a nice update. We have a lot of features still to come, obviously, but the updates and improvements will keep coming. We hope you are enjoying Carbon already, and please invite all your crypto friends to sign up with MetaMask right now.
